Danessa Myricks has done it again. She created a set of color sticks that rocked my world!
The Colorfix Stix ($38 each) are a set of ten, dual-ended color sticks in a range of colors and finishes, ranging from neutral to bold, metallic to foil. These sticks have a cooling sensation, and can be used all over the face as eyeshadow, highlighter, or even lip color. I find that I use them most often as eyeshadows, but I have also used them a few times as a lipstick topper!
I love using these sticks, because they go on beautifully and are really fun to use. Like all Danessa Myricks color products, the colors are amazing and unique. She has the ability to create the fun (and slightly crazy) color that somehow are both wearable and attention-getting.
I love many of the colors, but I have to say that my favorite is Duo 2 – Orion Nebula/Twilight Gleam. It’s the perfect combination of a rose pink with gold sparkle, and a plum bronze with taupe sparkle. I find that it makes my green eyes pop, and the sparkle isn’t too much that it looks too young for me.
One of the most unique aspects of these sticks is their application. They are incredibly cooling on the eye, and go on very smoothly…even those that have a lot of glitter. They set very quickly, and once they are set, you are good to go. They don’t move, smudge or fade all day. I wore them for 12 hours one day and they looked exactly the same at the end of the day as they did at the beginning.
The other unique aspect of these sticks is that they separate into individual sticks. They look like a dual-sided product, but they are actually magnetized together. The colors that are together really work well as a pair, but don’t let that stop you! You can mix and match all you want. And they are small enough that they are easy to pack in your travel bag.
One note when using them…make sure you keep and reuse the small plastic cap that comes with them. Replacing the cap helps keep them from drying out!
