Details by Tati Makeup Brushes – Good Brushes at a Good Value

December 23, 2025

I’ve always been a big fan of Tati Westbrook (@GlamLifeGuru) and have been watching her videos for years. She always seems to give her honest opinion about products, both high-end and drugstore, and is open with her audience when she is being sponsored or is working with a particular brand.

So years ago, when she came out with her first eyeshadow palette, I purchased it the day it came out. And it quickly became one of my all-time favorites. But alas, that company shut down a few years ago (glad I purchased a backup!) and like many, I waited for Tati to come out with some thing new.

That wish was granted a few months ago when she came out with makeup brushes under her Details by Tati line. And of course, I purchased all of them as soon as they were available to purchase!

All brushes are vegan and have sustainable birch wood handles with aluminum ferrules. They come in three separate sets, each with 6 brushes:

The Essentials Set ($133) “Intuitive and beautiful” – dual ended foundation, powder, cheek, three eyeshadow and a liner/spoolie.

Essentials Set

The Expansion Set ($133)- “Sculpt, highlight, refine” – fan brush, cheek, precision powder concealer, eyeshadow, fine tipped liner/shadow.

Expansion Set

The Speciality Set ($133) – “Artistry meets precision” – stippling, angled cheek, contour, eyeshadow, small and large highlighter

Specialty Set

Overall, I am glad I purchased all three sets when they came out. They are good, solid brushes…nicely weighted and a decent length (without being too long). And the pricing is extremely reasonable! I’d highly recommend them if you don’t already have a really good brush set. Even though I have a ton of brushes, I’m really glad I purchased these!

Of the 18 brushes, these are my favorites:

  • The dual-ended foundation brush from the essentials set is really nice, and is quite unique. One side is a spatula-type brush to apply the foundation, the other side is a rounded, dense brush to blend. The two of them together do a great job with liquid and cream foundations.
  • The concealer brush from the expansion set is also a standout. It has a great shape and the bristles are firm enough to get into the inner corner of the eyes and around the nose to conceal well.
  • The two highlighter brushes from the specialty set are my favorites. They have similar shapes, almost like a fluffy diamond, and apply highlighter beautifully. I especially love the smaller one for applying a light layer of glittery eyeshadow to the middle of my eyes, or for being extremely precise in applying highlighter on my face.

Have you tried Tati’s brushes? Let me know what you think of them, or if there are other brushes that you prefer!
