I recently tried the new Christian Louboutin Tent Fetiche La Baume De Teint Foundation ($60) just for fun. I honestly didn’t have great expectations for it, but I was pleasantly surprised! It goes on beautifully and seamlessly (over a primer) and wore nicely for eight hours before fading a bit. And for a balm foundation, eight hours is all I expect.
I purchased two colors: Milky Nude (05nc) and Ivory Nude (10n) because I wasn’t able to find them in any of my local stores. I ended up keeping them both – I’m using the Milky Nude (05nc) right now and through the winter, when I am at my palest. But I will probably want the Ivory Nude (10n) at other times during the year. I did need to use a bit of bronzer with both colors just to give a bit of warmth to my skin.
I was definitely surprised at how much coverage this foundation provided. I really expected a light coverage, but it is more medium (which is fine with me!). And it wasn’t as dewy as I expected which definitely helps with the wear time.
The biggest downfall of this foundation is that it only comes in 14 shades, with a limited number of darker shades. So it may not be for anyone with a darker skin tone.
A couple of hints when using this foundation:
- Be sure to use a primer to increase the wear time.
- I found it went on best with a buffing brush, rather than a traditional foundation brush or a beauty sponge.
- Definitely use a setting powder, especially in the t-zone.
- Be careful when opening the clasp! It is sharp. Because of the clasp I wouldn’t travel with this foundation.
