As I have admitted to before, I have a LOT of makeup brushes. I love trying new ones, and also, over the years, I have learned about how much the right makeup brush means to a flawless application. Some brushes are good for powder products, some are good for liquid products, and some are good for both. And the makeup brushes I have are a mix of natural and synthetic hair, which also can affect how well they apply makeup.
Today I want to talk about some of my favorite brushes, those by rephr.
Rephr hand makes their brushes in Japan and are tested and approved by actual consumers before releasing them to the wider market. What’s great about this process is that they offer the brushes at a discounted price so people can try them, in exchange for honest feedback. If people like the brushes, the offer them at a “regular” price as part of their standard collection. I always buy the newest rephr brushes as soon as they are offered in their concept store, because I love to try them out and provide my feedback. And I have been known to even go back and buy more of a particular brush if I really love it!
One of the best aspects of the rephr brushes are the price. You can easily spend $100+ for similar brushes, but they won’t perform better than those from rephr. They are consistently great quality at an amazing price!
Most of the rephr brushes are made with natural hair, but they do have some that are synthetic. They are very specific in how they choose the hair for their brushes, in order to choose the right one for your application goals.
Without further ado, here are some of my favorite brushes from rephr!
The most recent brushes (B01, B02, B03) are completely synthetic for liquid and cream applications, and I have been using them regularly since I purchased them. I especially love B01 for concealer!
Brush 04, the angled face brush – perfect for powder blush.
Brush 17, the flat-top face brush – perfect for foundation, especially around the nose.
Brush 05, the soft face brush – great for highlighter.
Brush 22, the flagship bronzer brush – the only powder bronzer brush I use, as nothing else compares!
Brush 02, the classic eye shading brush – great for all over shadow.
Brush 14, for hooded eyes – I love this for getting into the crease and the outer corners.
Brush 15, for blending – no harsh lines or edges with this brush!
Brush 21, for creams and shimmers – I have at least five of this brush for all of my creams and shimmers!
Honestly, even though I have chosen these as my favorite brushes, I haven’t found one rephr brush that I don’t really like. I use them all – I just use the ones above the most. You can’t go wrong with any of them. And definitely keep your eyes out for new releases and sets – they are always great values!
